Ethnic American Artist Presentation

This assignment was very interesting from beginning to end. At first I struggled to figure out who I wanted and put my mind to famous artists that I feel made an impact. Then I thought of Lin-Manuel Miranda and honestly couldn’t think of an artist I thought was better or that I wanted to work on more than him. Throughout the whole research process I learned a lot about Miranda and his work. I constantly listened to the soundtrack of In the Heights since that was my main focus. Personally, I have already heard the soundtrack before since the music in it is amazing however now I took the time to really listen to the lyrics and meaning behind all of the songs to write about in my presentation. I believe this musical definitely portrays a lot about the life for many immigrants in America especially hispanic as well as display what it means to be America and the truth behind it. Overall, I enjoyed working on a topic that I am so passionate about.
